All That’s Left | Landscape Photography

All That’s Left. This is what’s left of an old battered pier near Puerto Morelos, Mexico facing out into the Caribbean Sea. Setting up for this shot was tough because the waves were very strong. Every time I thought I had my tripod weighed down into the sand far enough a wave would recede and pull the whole rig forward. The waves look very calm but only because it was a 60 second exposure with a 10 stop ND filter and polarizer which smoothed everything out. Seascapes are one of the toughest types of landscape photography because not only do you have to think about your shot, you have to worry about mother nature dragging all your gear away. But the end result is always worth the risk.
